Adam Hills - Happy Feet

Fringe Programme page 14
As a last gasp surprise we managed to get to see Adam Hills during his last fringe show 2002.  It was as brilliant and funny as I had expected and just a joy to watch.
He started by greeting everyone with ‘go you big red fire engine’ and several people shouted it back, it was the title of last years show and obviously people had returned to see him again.  This years show was ‘happy feet’ it seems that Adam is fascinated by the music generated in America during the recession in the 30’s, other material covered the reactions following September 11th especially when flying, metal detectors, his youth and prosthetic limbs.  As one of the fastest selling comedians of the fringe adding shows and selling them out, there was some doubt as to whether he would be back next year as he didn’t have an idea for a new show but he announced to his last night audience that he has just had some inspiration.  Hopefully he will be back.
He attempted to get an audience member upset enough to say he would react violently in certain situations then proceed to show why this sort of violence would not work on him.  Another of the audience members he choose to include in his show was a policeman, which caused hilarity of its own, and a third was sitting beside a female friend with his wife on the other side, Adam enquired about his ugly wife.
This is one person I could go back to see again and again, not only is he a great comedian but also a very nice person.

Adam Hills may have happy feet, not only is this year’s show a sell-out but he has had several extra dates added.
The small snippets I have seen of this years show are as good as ever and he is such a nice person I wish him Well.
I hope Adam is again one of the ‘Perrier’ finalists and should he win (in my mind he should) that the ‘Perrier’ curse does not affect him. Past winners do not usually return to the fringe (except Rich Hall, good on ya Rich).
If anyone has a spare ticket for Adam I would love to have it!
Perrier nominated 2002, all extra shows sold out!
