Danny

Danny is fairly unusual in being a born Scot
Stand-up comedian who is playing a major venue at a peak time. Such is his
appeal; he was one of the comedians who graced the Pleasance sold out
board virtually every day of the Fringe.
It was therefore his final show that I managed to
get to see, so I cannot be too sure that the set we got was his normal
one, he was so laid back, quite happy to chat with his audience and giving
anecdotal examples of various towns, cities and countries that he had
visited in his many tours prior to his sojourn at the Fringe.
His packed out audience laughed at him, but
mostly with him so much that he overran by fully ten minutes, but it
wasn’t enough for his audience, they were still wanting more. His
closing quip was to the effect that he had to vacate to allow a Perrier
nominated comedian to use the venue, not that he was bitter, as he claimed
to prefer Highland Spring. In fact he had been swigging from a bottle of
this the entire show.
Not to his taste maybe, but surely it can’t be
too long before that water companies judges consider Danny is the Bhoy for
them.
