Francesca Martinez - I'mPerfect
|
Fringe Programme page 29 |
Whether you see the title of Francesca
Martinez’s show as Imperfect or I’m Perfect the product is very funny
and also poignant. In the
Press release the company state “It’s not about living with a
disability. The show is about living, because everyone’s made to feel
‘imperfect’, if they don’t have the right image.
Mild paranoia is the new normal!
It is difficult at first to believe that this
confident, very pretty, young woman is ‘disabled’ having been born
with mild Cerebral palsy, she constantly looks drunk and is unable to do
many of the day to day things others take for granted, this however did
not stop Francesca having a career in television as part of the cast of
the children’s programme Grange Hill and winning the Daily Telegraph
Open Mic Award 2000.
Co-written by Francesca and Alex Martinez this
show runs through incidents covering the many difficulties and prejudices
she, and if we are honest with ourselves to some extent we, face in life.
She points out several ridiculous advertising slogans and finds
ingenious ways round some of her own personal problems.
Francesca has always wanted to be a hairdresser!
Please continue to entertain us with you’re comedy you are so
talented I would like to bring every fringe going comedy buff to see the
show because for me the show was ‘Perfect’.
