Jason Byrne

Fringe Programme page 21

Let me just say this guy is phenomenal you could watch him night after night and get a different show each time.  Jason has been on TV quite a bit this year and I thought he might not get up for the fringe, but he did.
As usual his script if any seemed to fly out the window as he started interacting with his audience immediately, the few items which seemed to be scripted didn’t work as well as he had hoped, i.e. listening with a glass as someone went to the loo.  He doesn’t so much pick on anyone but includes them as part of his act. The night we were in there were three or four young ladies in the front row all of which he seemed to think were too young for the content of the show, not one of them complained and all seemed to be having a great time.  Where Jason gets his energy from I wish I knew as per usual he is almost non-stop from one side of the stage to the other and all over the set.  This year he has included anecdotes about his little boy, the descriptions he gives only had me wondering who the child takes after, well Jason like father like son???
He is only doing 14 nights during the fringe and is selling out fast daily if you want a ticket book one soon or you might not get to see him.
