Jeff Green

Fringe Programme page 31

Jeff Green is a stand up I had only ever seen on television before so I went to his show with no preconceived ideas.
He came across as a very pleasant young man who was not too hard on the inevitable latecomers and people leaving to go to the toilet. He chatted away to the audience, tried to get some feed back and interaction, sometimes successfully, sometimes less so.
He had a fund of stories and anecdotes on a variety of subjects, some tasteful, others less so. The latter seemed to go down better with his audience. He did a whole routine on the crazy, insane things one did on holiday, only with the excuse that ' F**k it, I'm on holiday.' Coming into this category was, hiring a moped, going scuba diving with sharks and a 50 plus business executive getting a hair braid.
The hour seemed to pass at an alarming rate, I for one thought I'd only been watching for about half an hour when it was all over.
My lasting memory of the show was while talking about Americans was ' I'd rather be told to have a nice day by someone who doesn't mean it, rather than be told to F**k off by someone who did.
Well done Jeff. I'm really glad I saw your show.
