Based loosely on
Shakespeare’s ‘Scottish Play’ “The Lesbian Launderette”
started life as a joke but I am glad to say it snowballed into the
show it now is.
Involving three gay men, two
fag hags, a transvestite, a corpse, a necrophile and a launderette.
This musical in one act adapts popular songs from the likes of the
Bee Gee’s ‘Tragedy’ to Lloyd Webber’s ‘Don’t Cry for
Me’, written in rhyming couplets and is both funny and irreverent.
The cast work very hard on
stage, so hard actually they just seem to be having fun and
everything is just a big laugh.
The fun element comes over so clearly that the audience start
having fun to. It would be difficult not to enjoy this production and as
audiences seem to have caught on early you might have to struggle to
get a ticket for the show, but I would recommend you get one if you
can.
To get a taster of the show
try the High Street as the cast can often be found tempting
prospective audiences with tasters from the show.
