Take a bunch of Oxford Under
graduates, come up with a few good ideas, and quite a lot of surreal
ones, mix together and serve over the duration of an hour and there
you have it, a Fringe 2002 show.
There seems to be an
inordinate of popular songs containing the word Love in their title,
and the opening scene is a student writing to the Hove Tourist Board
suggesting these could be altered slightly changing the letter L for
the letter H to help raise its profile and separate it from it's
better known neighbour Brighton.
These suggestions are put in a
letter, one of the running gags. We are introduced to Gregori a
cello playing middle management person in the Hove Tourist Board. He
and his secretary are secretly in love with each other etc. They
introduce cloning, strangely obsessed parents, several unusual
relationships with chemicals and a ukulele !!
Some how this all loosely gels
into a show, but it's certainly not a first, maybe a 2-2 at best.
