Sandy Nelson an actor and
musician, dreaming of pop stardom.
We find Sandy rehearsing in
his bedroom with friends for a battle of the bands competition and
the joy of performing on Glasgow Green.
His witty satirical look at
the pop business and slating of other performers is hilarious.
He even defends his looks by informing us of his attempts to
improve in the hope of getting females. His performance skills and
audience interactions are both funny and somewhat endearing.
The rest of the band either
share the flat or live in the same block, this is cleverly
intertwined to allow for the larger pop group numbers. I had
expected a solo show but the addition of a base player and pianist
on keyboards, just added more value for money.
Due to the late start of this
show and the time restrictions I didn’t see the finale, which
promised to be good fun. Could anyone tell me what happened as I
don’t think I can get back to find out.
What I saw was both very
clever and funny with pleasant visuals and a melodic voice Sandy
puts on a good show.
