Dominic Coleman, you may not
know the name but I'm sure you'll know the face, from his many
television appearances primarily as being a rival to Ronald.
However, what Dominic does best is to write and star in his own
shows.
He has had the critically
acclaimed 'Looking for Michael' and ' Geeza ...Memoirs of an Ex
Football Hooligan' for the last two years and wit this years
offering, Truth and Lies he should have a sure fire hit on his
hands.
Dominic introduces us to Neil
Watson, a ' politically correct' Conceptual artist
who lives with his long term partner Saskia and their child.
He is undertaking a project involving taking a youth, Darren or Daz
as he likes to be known, from an inner London Council estate and
using a touch of Professor Higgins introduces him to the middle
class life, whilst in turn being introduced to Darren's life.
There is clever use of
audio-visual effects, a story board flip chart
to relate time elapsed. There a also a number of props. One
of my enduring memories of this performance is of Dominic on a micro
scooter propelling himself around his venue.
His show is well written and
performed with the true craft of the comic actor he undoubtedly is.
